“Virgin White Tea” Estate Tour

This is a low-country tea plantation within sniffing distance of the sea, owned by third-generation planter and author Herman Gunarathne. The estate is famed for its ‘virgin white tea’, which retails for over US$1,500/kg, and stocks the shelves of tip-top tea gourmet Mariage Frères in Paris. Guided tours of the serene estate include a walk-through of the antique factory and afternoon tea with cake.

THINGS TO NOTE

There is no fee, although a contribution(tip) to the guide is recommended.
Guests are advised to inform their curator and confirm by afternoon, the day prior to the experience or at the point of making the room reservation.
Location is 20 minutes from the resort.
